Hello lovely people of our community. I feel everyone play this game (and also other games) for pleasant times. It would be bad if someone ruins that expectation and I'm very sure that you wouldn't want to be that person!
Thus, I'd like to share some "Ethics" (most of you might already know them but please feel free to share them to those who haven't~"
Ethic #1 : "Don't burn me, please"
Waiting for a few seconds or a minute shouldn't hurt anyone. An additional of players would compensate for the wait when it comes to bringing down a boss. So please, don't start the fight when everyone isn't there to start. You wouldn't feel good either if you run to the boss and a fire pops right up to your face and burn you alive!
Ethic #2 : "Finish what you started"
"CC" or Crowd Control is an important thing to do in boss fight. And bosses in Blade and Soul usually have a few "resistance bars" that need to be filled with the same kind of CC abilities. For example : you need to stun twice to stun a boss.
What would happen when you want to double stun the boss and someone fill in "a single" knock down"?? Yes you would waste your stun skills. One or two of them and and the boss would continue to do their stuff. such as huge damage AOE to everyone. Don't be that careless person!! when you want to CC. make sure you do it at least twice.
Ethic #3 : "Don't just stay silent"
I am aware that a lot of us don't know Chinese. SO~ these are some useful basic "Words" we can use to communicate;
1 - I'm ready to start.
WC - Please wait. I will be back.
98 - Go or lets start.
3Q - Thank you!
88 - Byebye~
Now these are some English words that Taiwanese also understand. I recommend to use CAP so they can read it better.
OK, GO, SORRY, YES and NO.
Sometimes they also understand simple sentences. ^^
Oh, and sometimes when people address you. like "P1, P2, or something" and you don't understand. just say it in English. they would understand even if they can't read it
Ethic #4 : "Cease the annoying biding act"
1 copper bid repeatedly or biding in the last second can waste both your time and the others'! Just don't do it!!
Ethic #5 : "I open, I take"
This applies mainly on the 2 daily dungeons (Ice warehouse and Floating Alter - or Cold storage and Heaven's Mandate in NA names,)
When someone opens a dungeon for everyone to participate, one would expect to get something in return for their efforts. in Blade and Soul, the person would have every right to plunder the loots. Don't try to take anything unless they says so. After all, you wouldn't be able to do the dungeon if nobody activates it for you.
Ethic #6 : "More effort, more reward"
This is similar to Ethic #5. When you get carried through a dungeon where its totally beyond your abilities (in which you shouldn't queue in the first place) you should let the people who carry you bid for the items first. You may bid if its way to cheap. but when they show they really need them, you should let go.
Another scenario is when you join an "on-going" dungeon where the group is fighting the boss. If you enter where the boss is about to die and the quest finish for you, you should let the other members bid first as well. joining them already saves a lot of your time to finish the quest and you also get the reward box for killing boss. What's more would you ask for?
Ethic #7 : "Recruit only when it would benefit those who come"
There is a small "+" icon for the group leader to recruit people while the dungeon is still in progress. You can use it to fill the remaining slot. But please refrain from using in these scenarios :
1 : The boss only has very little hp left and about to die in a minute or two. (Or the boss is very easy to kill for the group that you can kill it very fast). Screen loading could take from a few seconds to 1-2 minutes, you wouldn't want to enter a dungeon where the boss is already dead either.
2 : Where your group has already killed (or almost kill) a boss/mob that is required in quest(s). "Especially" in the 2 daily dungeons (mentioned above). Please never do this. Not only would it waste the time for people who come, but it would also cost them the entry for that day!!
There could be more. But these are the most important stuff I could think of at the moment
I've heard a handful of people saying "These're no rules saying I can't, that means I can."... The logic might be correct. But just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
Remember that these are not "Rules" which means they are not absolutely necessary to follow.
But it would be nice to do so.
I might miss out a lot of things so please share what you have in mind
Wish you pleasant gaming
